In person-centered practices, the person affected by decisions, plans, or objectives leads the process, regardless of perceived barriers. People with IDD have experienced a system-centered approach to care for many decades. I first learned to practice person-centered skills in 2000 from the late Shelley Dumas who became my mentor many years later. I earned certification as a Person-Centered Thinking trainer from The Learning Center for Person-Centered Practices in 2016 and I continue to practice and sharpen PCT skills daily. I offer remote or in-person training classes for up to 20 participants. Ask me for a detailed estimate.
